Watch: Hero Local Reporter Reads Sarah Huckabee Sanders the Riot Act After ‘Fake News’ Attack

Deputy Press Secretary Goes Ballistic Over ‘Barrage of Fake News’ While Saying Russia-Trump Is a ‘Hoax’

Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders went ballistic Tuesday afternoon after a local reporter asked her why President Trump called CNN “fake news” even though the network had retracted a story and three of its journalists were forced to resign as a result. The reporter noted also that CNN apologized for the story and one of the targets of the report accepted their apology.

That reporter refused to accept her claims or her attack and read her the riot act. “We’re here to ask you questions, and you’re here to provide the answers,” Brian Karem ultimately told Sanders.

Here’s how it started.

“Why isn’t [CNN’s] response good enough for the president?” the reporter began as he asked his question during Tuesday afternoon’s press briefing, the first in many days that was held on-camera.

“I think it’s the constant barrage of fake news that’s directed at this administration,” Sanders responded, perhaps unaware her boss, President Donald Trump, was responsible for countless birther attacks against his predecessor, has accused without proof or substantiation several members of the Obama administration – including the former president – of felonies, and lies so regularly The New York Times decided to compile all of Trump’s lies and post them on a page in very, very small type.

Sanders accused CNN of being “repeatedly wrong,” and then (speaking of fake news) she urged “everybody across the country” to view the video that supposedly catches a CNN producer making compromising remarks about its own news. That video was created by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas. O’Keefe of course is the purveyor of fake news in the form of selectively edited and out of context videos that are designed to make their subject appear to say things they are not.

“If the media can’t be trusted to report the news then that’s a dangerous place,” she said.

The reporter, identified as Brian Karem, refused to accept her attacks.

“You’re inflaming everybody, right here, right now with those words,” he fumed, as Raw Story reported. “Any one of us [reporters] are replaceable, and any one of us, if we don’t get it right, the audience has the opportunity to turn the channel, or not read us. You have been elected to serve for four years at least — there’s no option other than that!”

But Karem, who works for Maryland’s Sentinel newspapers, wasn’t quite finished.

“We’re here to ask you questions, and you’re here to provide the answers,” he continued, a basic that this White House refuses to understand. “And what you just did is inflammatory! And there are people all over the country who look at it and say, ‘See, once again the president is right and everybody else out here is fake media.’ And everybody in this room is only trying to do their job.”

Huckabee Sanders pushed back, but it was too late.

On Twitter, Karem’s remarks exploded, and he has become a hero.
