WATCH: Gay Men’s Chorus Drowns Out Homophobic Pride Protesters

Love is Louder Than Hate

The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington D.C., currently on their Southern Equality Tour, used their voices to drown out hate at this weekend’s Knox Pride in Tennessee.

As Joe.My.God. pointed out, the homophobic protesters (unsurprisingly) attended the event, waving anti-LGBT banners and screaming hate into the crowds. The choir’s rendition of “We Shall Overcome,” however, well… overcame.

Watch below, via the Gay Choir’s Twitter and choir member Rob Serpa:

The choir has spent June embarking “on its first-ever bus tour of the South to states that have discriminatory laws against the LGBTQ community,” and will next visit Roanoka, Virginia with their message of “equality, dignity, and justice.”
