WATCH: Donald Trump Jr Wrongly Declares President’s Problems Have ‘All Passed’ After Comey Testimony

‘This Is the Only Thing That They Had on Trump’ President’s Son Claims

Despite promising the American people there would be a separation between the White House and the President’s sons, who are tasked with running their father’s businesses, Donald Trump Jr. spent much of the three hours Jim Comey testified on Thursday fervently tweeting his takes. Thursday night, the eldest scion sat down with the family’s favorite news network and their favorite host to declare victory.

“This is the only thing that they had on Trump,” the president’s son said, referring to the FBI’s Russia investigation. “This is what they did to distract him from being able to get the stuff done that he was elected to ultimately do,” he added, taking a swipe at Democrats, but not realizing that the vast majority of Americans on every issue related to Russia and Comey are opposed to President Trump.

“I think now that this has all passed, he can go back to doing what he promised he was going to do,” Donald Trump Jr. insisted.

It’s unclear what he believes has “passed.”

While the former FBI Director acknowledged that up until the time he was fired the FBI was not conducting an investigation into the President, that does not mean that they are not now, or that they will not be in the future. It does not mean any of the four congressional investigations into Russia are not also investigating Trump, nor does it mean the the Special Counsel, Robert Mueller, is not.

In fact, Comey made clear that Mueller is investigating Trump, for obstruction of justice.
