Trump Tweets Angry Confirmation He Is Under Investigation for Obstruction of Justice
‘Phony Story”
Twelve hours after The Washington Post broke the news Special Counsel Robert Mueller is conducting a criminal investigation of President Donald Trump for obstruction of justice, President Donald Trump posted an angry tweet – not denying the allegation, but confirming it.
And as usual, Trump played the victim card.
“They made up a phony collusion with the Russians story, found zero proof, so now they go for obstruction of justice on the phony story. Nice,” he tweeted.
The RNC had pushed back on the Washington Post report, issuing a typo-laden list of talking points for administration surrogates to use when speaking with the media.
These read nuts. They sound like Trump wrote them himself, and is panicked. And the typos are sophomoric. https://t.co/wIFcQ0V06g pic.twitter.com/UxCzmOkFfn

Wednesday night the White House used these talking points, calling the news an illegal leak.

Dear Donald: You’d be wise to check with your lawyer before tweeting about this. It is a criminal case. A serious criminal case. https://t.co/5CsALRTYS2
