Putin Likens Blaming Russia for Hacking the DNC to ‘Anti-Semitism and Blaming the Jews’

Putin to America: ‘You’re Hysterical. Should I Give You a Pill or Something?’

Vladimir Putin pushed back against NBC News’ Megyn Kelly at a forum on Friday, saying that blaming Russia for the hacking of the Democratic National Committee is just like “blaming the Jews.”

The Russian president called the combined consensus of all 17 U.S. intelligence agencies “disinformation” – something Russia is famous for having perfected – and told the audience at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum in Russia that it “reminds me of anti-Semitism and blaming the Jews.”

Also pushing back on Kelly’s assertion that there is sufficient proof to determine the hacks came from Russia, Putin said, “IP addresses can be invented, a child can do that! Your underage daughter could do that. That is not proof,” he insisted, according to NBC News.

Putin went on to say the reports from American intelligence agencies are “null and void,” suggesting only the classified details would reveal the truth. It’s unclear if Putin was suggesting he has seen the classified reports.

“There is no specific evidence, no facts, just assumptions, allegations and conclusions based on those allegations nothing more,” claimed Putin, who once served as a KGB agent, and later, as the head of the KGB’s successor agency, the FSB.

According to The Atlantic’s Julia Ioffe, an expert on Russia, in this clip below, Putin says America is “hysterical,” and asks if we need “a pill.”
