Public School Employee Says All LGBTQ People Should Be Killed, Hopes Pride ‘Turns Out Like the Boston Marathon’

Columbus Pride Is This Weekend

A Columbus, Ohio public schools employee took to Facebook and called for all LGBTQ people to be killed. The identity of the poster has not been released to the public but NBC affiliate WCMH reports the post was reported to law enforcement, and Homeland Security is now involved. The post is especially disturbing and concerning as it comes before this weekend’s Columbus Pride event.

“I hope this event turns out like the Boston Marathon a few year’s (sic) back,” the post reads. “All [LGBTQ people] should be killed or at least relocated,” it also states. It’s not known what word was used instead of “LGBTQ people.”

WCMH reports the hate monger who called for genocide of all LGBTQ people “refused to explain his comment, and acted surprised anyone was interested in it.”

Columbus City Schools issued a statement denouncing the post and reaffirming its support for equality.

Columbus City Schools values and celebrates its diversity. Please know that we are working with authorities to address this matter and his actions. We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind,” it said on Facebook. “Our District will be participating in the Pride Parade Saturday with more than 400 teachers, staff, students, families, friends and allies. We hope to see you there as well.”

It’s not known why the alleged perpetrator’s name has been kept from the public but NCRM will continue to follow this story.
