‘1,000 People Gathered at Pulse Sunday Into Monday Morning to Pay Their Respects’
Good Monday Morning.
- Today for many across the nation is a solemn day, a day of remembrance, a day of honoring the 49 people we lost one year ago today at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando. It was the nation’s deadliest hate crime, the nation’s deadliest mass shooting in modern history, and the deadliest terror attack since 9/11. The victims were mostly LGBT and Hispanic.
- The City of Orlando posted this tweet early Monday morning:
- “1,000 people gathered at Pulse Sunday into Monday morning to pay their respects,” ClickOrlando reports, adding, a “service in Pulse was privately held early Monday for only survivors, victims’ families and local officials. There are other services planned throughout the day that will be open to the public.”
“Family members then each took the stage to read all 49 victims’ names starting at 2:02 a.m., the moment when the gunfire started last year.” - 49 people dressed as angels were there to stand guard.
