Hillary Clinton Just Tweeted ‘Happy Pride to Everyone in NYC & Across the Globe.’ Donald Trump Has Yet to Say Anything.
Not a Word for LGBT Americans From The President
For the first time in eight years the White House issued no proclamation honoring LGBT Pride Month. The President of the United States has not mentioned LGBT people at all. He has not noted the Supreme Court two years ago this month ruled same-sex couples have the same rights and responsibilities of marriage that different-sex couples do. Nor has he acknowledged the great pain of the LGBT and Hispanic communities after a terrorist killed 49 people at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando. That was the deadliest hate crime in American history, the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history, and the deadliest terror attack since 9/11.
Yet, not a word for LGBT Americans from their president.
Today is the largest Pride celebration in the United States, New York City Pride. Last year’s celebration attracted close to two million people.
No word from the White House.
Last June Trump promised to fight for the LGBT community:
Thank you to the LGBT community! I will fight for you while Hillary brings in more people that will threaten your freedoms and beliefs.

But former U.S. Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton offered her thoughts and well wishes for a “Happy Pride.”
Happy #Pride2017 to everyone in NYC & across the globe. Never forget that LGBT rights are human rights & human rights are LGBT rights. pic.twitter.com/eUUzJDuc2V
