‘Irreversible’
Thursday afternoon President Donald Trump stunned the entire world by announcing he will pull the world’s second-highest emitter of greenhouse gases, the United States, out of the 195-nation Paris Climate Agreement. President Trump falsely claimed doing so will help the U.S. economy and American workers.
Trump did offer to get together with “obstructionists,” namely, the Democrats in the House and Senate, to craft what would essentially be a new Paris Agreement, or to “renegotiate” the Agreement.
What Trump apparently didn’t know is he doesn’t have to negotiate with the Democrats, he has to (basically) negotiate with the other 194 countries.
And three of the most-powerful ones just said, “no.”
Almost immediately upon completing his remarks, the leaders of France, Germany, and Italy joined together to issue a statement.
“We deem the momentum generated in Paris in December 2015 irreversible and we firmly believe that the Paris Agreement cannot be renegotiated, since it is a vital instrument for our planet, societies and economies,” the leaders of the three countries said, Reuters reports.

Trump met with all three just last week in his first overseas trip, where he did not make friends.
