Calls Grow for Megyn Kelly to Interview Parents of Sandy Hook Victims Now That She’s Interviewing Alex Jones

Conspiracy Theorist Is a ‘Truther’ Who Says Massacre Never Happened

On December 14, 2012, a madman gunned down 20 first grade students and six school officials at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Alex Jones, a conspiracy theorist, fake news purveyor, and friend of President Donald Trump, has for years insisted it never happened. Jones told followers months after the Connecticut massacre, “they staged Sandy Hook. The evidence is just overwhelming. And that’s why I’m so desperate and freaked out. This is not fun, you know, getting up here telling you this. Somebody’s got to tell you the truth.”

That’s just one of many times Alex Jones has claimed the Sandy Hook murders were faked.

So it boggles the mind why one of NBC News’ latest conservative hires, Megyn Kelly, will is interviewing Jones for a show that is scheduled to air Sunday. Sunday happens to be Father’s Day, so it’s especially poor timing – not that it should happen at all, ever.

Many people, especially the Sandy Hook families, are furious.

“Megyn Kelly is giving Alex Jones a national platform and Sandy Hook families are livid,” Zack Ford at ThinkProgress writes. “The conspiracy theorist called the Sandy Hook shooting a hoax; now he can repeat the claim on broadcast TV,” Ford observes.

Ford posts tweets of six people whose family members were victims of a madman that horrific December day. A sampling:

In response to some of the many who are furious she would give a platform to a man who lies for a living, especially about the horrific murders of 26 people, including 20 children, Kelly tweeted:

Chelsea Clinton was one of many who weighed in:
