WATCH LIVE: FBI Director James Comey Testifies Before Senate on Russia’s Intervention in US Election

Begins at 10 AM EDT

Senators on the Judiciary Committee will question FBI Director James Comey on the extent of Russia’s intervention in the US election and what ties the Trump team had with Russian officials and agents.

It’s not known what Comey will say, but he has been known to make surprising remarks. Generally, he will be limited as the investigation is ongoing.

Democratic Senators likely will ask why Comey did not inform the public that the FBI was investigating the Trump campaign, and had been at least as early as July, yet he went public with what turned out to be a non-story on Clinton’s emails days before the election.

Lawmakers will also want to know the extent to which Russia has compromised individuals in the Trump campaign, and how the U.S. can ensure this does not continue to happen. There is no reason to believe Russia has ceased its activities in the U.S.
