Trump Throws National Security Team Under The Bus

Destroys Team’s Credibility in Two Tweets

The worst single act Donald Trump has committed as President – that we know of – was revealing highly classified “code word” information to Russian officials last week. And in typical fashion, at the start of the crisis du jour, the Trump White House rushes out senior staff and top officials to deny whatever is in the news, often denigrating the media in the process. These top White House aides make broad, sweeping statements, insisting Donald Trump is the greatest president in history, the Obama administration was a disaster, his number one concern is (a) jobs, jobs, jobs, or (b) the safety and security of the American people, and everything is hunky-dory in Trumpville.

Then, hours or days later, President Trump goes on national TV, or – as he just did – takes to Twitter and admits he did what the news reports and everyone else said he did, throwing his team under the bus, revealing them to be lying fools now with zero credibility.

This is exactly what just happened.

The Washington Post about 18 hours ago reported that President Trump revealed highly classified information to the Russians, even bragged about the great intelligence he gets.

Immediately, Trump’s Secretary of State Rex Tillerson issues a statement denying the Post’s report.

Trump’s Deputy National Security Advisor Dina Powell immediately calls the report “false.”

Trump’s National Security Advisor appears in front of the White House minutes later to deliver a statement to reporters: “I was in the room. It didn’t happen.”

Twelve hours later, President Trump took to Twitter, admitting he did what the Post said he did, thereby throwing his Secretary of State, Deputy National Security Advisor, and National Security Advisor under the bus.
