‘There’s Been No Collusion’: Spicer Says Independent Prosecutor Not Necessary (Video)
78% of Americans Disagree
Sean Spicer says an special prosecutor is not necessary, contradicting nearly eight out of ten Americans who support an independent investigation into the Trump campaign and what actions Russia took to interfere in the U.S. elections. A new NBC News/WSJ poll finds 78 percent of Americans support an independent commission or special prosecutor to conduct the Russia investigation over Congress.
“There’s frankly no need for a special prosecutor,” Spicer told reporters Monday. “You have two Senate committees that are looking into this, the FBI is conducting their own review, and I think if you even look at what acting director Andrew McCabe said, he made it very clear they have the resources that they need and that the work continues.”
Spicer went on to claim that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senator Dianne Feinstein, Senator Joe Manchin, “and everyone else who’s been briefed on this have been very clear there was no collusion with respect to the President himself.”

The White House press secretary neglected to note that all three of the Democrats he chose to name have specifically called for a special prosecutor.
Spicer also fails to undertand that even if there was no private collusion, there is monumental evidence of Russia’s interference in the U.S. election, and it’s increasingly possible that Trump campaign associates or allies were involved.
If the Trump White House is so certain the President, his entire administration, transition team, campaign, and other associates are squeaky clean, why wouldn’t they want the opportunity to prove it?
