REPORT: Sean Hannity Preparing to Quit Fox News

Could the Far Right Extremist Be Heading for the Exits?

For over 20 years Sean Hannity has been a host on Fox News, but now the far right wing extremist may be on his way out. After news broke Monday afternoon that long-time Fox News executive Bill Shine had resigned amid the lingering sexual harassment scandals of both Roger Ailes and Bill O’Reilly, Hannity may be the next to go.

So says The Daily Beast’s Andrew Kirell, after Hannity himself last week tweeted if the rumors of Shine’s imminent ouster were true, it would be the end of the news network.

“Sean Hannity is looking to leave Fox News, according to sources,” Kirell writes. “Shine was Hannity’s his long-time ally whom he personally recommended the network hire two decades ago to produce Hannity & Colmes.”

Hannity would be among the last of the Fox News veteran extremists to leave the conservative network, although, under Rupert Murdoch and his sons’ leadership, a new crop of right wing nuts, like Jesse Watters, have sprung up in their place.

“One insider speculates that the negotiations could end this week and Hannity might be out by Friday. Another said his final show could even be tonight or Tuesday evening, given Shine’s Monday resignation.”

Fox News, however, said in a statement speaking on behalf of Hannity and the network: “This is completely untrue.”

Right now they are just rumors, but if Hannity were to leave, an already stretched Fox News would be challenged to replace him.

Hannity “started a ‘#IStandWithShine hashtag,” Kirell notes, “and in his final tweet before a self-imposed ‘shutting down’ of his feed, Hannity on Sunday promoted a Facebook page called ‘Stop the Scalpings.'”
