REPORT: Jared Kushner Under FBI ‘Scrutiny’ in Russia Investigation

Trump’s Most Trusted Advisor

Jared Kushner is under FBI “scrutiny” in the Bureau’s Russia investigation, NBC News reports Thursday night.

The FBI’s scrutiny of Kushner places the bureau’s sprawling counterintelligence and criminal investigation not only on the doorstep of the White House, but on the cusp of the Trump family circle. The Washington Post first reported last week that a senior White House official close to Trump was a ‘person of interest,’ but did not name the person. The term ‘person of interest’ has no legal meaning,” NBC News reports.

The Washington Post tonight also reports that Kushner “is being investigated because of the extent and nature of his interactions with the Russians.”

Investigators are focusing on a series of meetings held by Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law and an influential White House adviser, as part of their probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and related matters, according to people familiar with the investigation,” the Post reports.

Last week after the Washington Post report, NCRM reported there was widespread speculation that the “person of interest” was indeed Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, who serves as Senior Advisor to the President.

In filing his top-secret security clearance form, Kushner “did not mention dozens of contacts with foreign leaders or officials in recent months,” The New York Times reported last month. “They include a December meeting with the Russian ambassador, Sergey I. Kislyak, and one with the head of a Russian state-owned bank, Vnesheconombank, arranged at Mr. Kislyak’s behest.”
