MSNBC Hosts: Kellyanne Conway Would Say She Needed to ‘Take a Shower’ After Defending Trump (Video)

‘Blech, I Need to Take a Shower’ Conway Accused of Saying

Before signing on to be Donald Trump‘s campaign manager and becoming the first woman to successfully manage a presidential campaign all the way to the White House, Kellyanne Conway had endorsed Senator Ted Cruz and run a Cruz PAC that actively opposed Donald Trump.

MSNBC ‘s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski on Monday claimed on-air that Conway is secretly disgusted by President Trump. The “Morning Joe” co-hosts say when Conway appeared on their show she would privately say, “Blech, I need to take a shower.”

“This is a woman, by the way, who came on our show during the campaign, and would shill for Trump in extensive fashion and then she would get off the air, the camera would be turned off, the microphone would be taken off and she would say, ‘Blech, I need to take a shower,’ because she disliked her candidate so much,” Brzezinski told viewers. 

Scarborough added that she said, “This is just my like my summer in Europe,” suggesting she was only doing it for a short while or as a change of pace.

Brzezinski chimed in, saying Conway would tell them, “I’m just doing this for the money.”

Scarborough clarified, “I don’t know that she ever said, ‘I’m doing this for the money,’” but he says she would say, “I’m gonna get through this.”

“‘I have to take a shower because it feels so dirty to be saying what I’m saying,'” Brzezinski also claimed Conway had said. “I guess she’s just used to it now,” she opined.

Both Scarborough and Brzezinski became what many observers said was surprisingly friendly with Trump, forcing the network at one point to put out a statement insisting its hosts were still objective professionals. Trump used to call in regularly to “Morning Joe,” but now does not.

Earlier this year Scarborough and Brzezinski made clear they were no longer supportive of Trump, and in March banned Conway from the show, over the Counselor to the President’s repeated lies. Just last week Brzezinski urged other networks to not host Conway for that reason.
