Morning Briefing: 5 Things for Wednesday – Trump Meets the Pope, Democrats Beat Republicans
Here’s What You Need to Start Your Day
Good Wednesday morning!
It seems America has found the secret to stopping Trump’s inane tweeting: put him in a place he can’t watch “Fox & Friends.”
Here are five things you need to know for today:
- President Trump met with the Pope this morning. The two shook hands, took pictures, and exchanged gifts. One of the gifts the Pope gave the President:Â

- Democrats had a great night. Two local Democratic candidates beat their Republican opponents in stunning victories, flipping seats that had been solidly GOP. “Two districts that voted for Donald Trump in last year’s presidential election selected Democrats for state legislature seats in New York and New Hampshire on Tuesday night.” (Huffington Post)
- The Congressional Budget Office this afternoon will release what is expected to be a devastating blow to the Republican bill to repeal and “replace” ObamaCare.
- Congratulations, Taiwan! The freedom to marry grows! (Court allows 2 years for lawmakers to figure out what to do.)
