GOP Senator Lindsey Graham Calls for Former FBI Director Comey to Testify

‘It Would Be Good for the Country’

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has just called on former FBI Director Jim Comey to testify before the Senate in a public, open hearing. Republicans have been hesitant to even appear to want to investigate events involving the Trump-Russia connection and the Trump White House.

“I’ve asked Comey to come before the Judiciary Committee to tell his side of the story,” Graham told reporters, according to a report by Politico. “I think it would be good for him if he did. It would be good for the country.”

President Donald Trump fired Comey one week ago today. Late Tuesday afternoon the New York Times reported Trump had asked Comey to drop the federal investigation into his former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn. On Monday the Washington Post reported Trump last week, the day after firing Comey, shared highly classified intelligence with Russia. That intel, we now know, came from Israel.

Senator Graham is the chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism which oversees the FBI.
