Elijah Cummings Chastises Jason Chaffetz in 7 Page Letter While Revealing Mike Flynn Lied to Investigators
‘Documents That Appear to Indicate That Gen. Flynn Lied to Investigators’
House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Elijah Cummings chastised his outgoing Committee Chairman, Rep. Jason Chaffetz, late Monday afternoon in a lengthy and detailed seven-page letter that includes this bombshell: “the Oversight Committee has in our possession documents that appear to indicate that Gen. Flynn lied to investigators who interviewed him as part of his 2016 security renewal.”
According to the letter, Chaffetz has been refusing the requests of all the Democrats on the Oversight Committee to subpoena documents from the White House related to fired Trump former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn.
The letter goes on to state that Flynn told investigators that “U.S. Companies” paid for his trip to Russia, during which he gave a speech to the Russian government’s propaganda organization RT, and was captured in a now infamous photo sitting next to Russian President Vladimir Putin and across a table from Green Party leader Jill Stein.

“The actual source of the funds was not a U.S. company,” Cummings writes, “but the Russian media propaganda arm, RT.”
Cummings also notes that he is sending a copy of his letter, which some might say Chaffetz has been stonewalling, to newly-appointed Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
The bombshell development scuttled the Trump White House’s attempts, failed as they were, to blame the Obama administration for Flynn receiving a renewed security clearance.
