Even After Kathy Griffin Apologizes Donald Trump Jr. Tries to Get Her Banned From CNN
‘Will @CNN Keep Putting Her on Air for Things Like the New Years Celebration???’
Kathy Griffin on Tuesday held a photo shoot – and held up a fake, dripping, bloody “head” of President Donald Trump. It was wrong, plain and simple, as NCRM said in an editorial immediately. Griffin was denounced, it seemed, by more on the left than on the right, but the message to her was clear: You crossed a line.
Tuesday evening Griffin posted what appears to be a sincere video apologizing, recognizing she had gone too far.
I am sorry. I went too far. I was wrong. pic.twitter.com/LBKvqf9xFB

Chelsea Clinton was among the many notables – again, it seems more from the left than the right – who took to social media to denounce Griffin’s actions:
This is vile and wrong. It is never funny to joke about killing a president. https://t.co/zIiuKoMyFw

And the Secret Service several times made clear its intentions:

But all that wasn’t enough for the Trump family.
President Donald Trump Wednesday morning posted a tweet denouncing her action, and even mentioned his 11-year old son:
Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!

First Lady Melania Trump (who has promised at some point to take up the issue of online bullying,) issued a statement questioning Griffin’s sanity.

But it’s been Donald Trump, Jr. who appears to be leading the family’s battle again Griffin.
The elder son of the President first tried to equate Griffin’s inappropriate act with all liberals:
Disgusting but not surprising. This is the left today. They consider this acceptable. Imagine a conservative did this to Obama as POTUS? https://t.co/QdghcbIjS7
— Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) May 30, 2017
(Clearly Donald Trump Jr. has never seen the countless images of President Barack Obama with a noose around his neck, or his “body” being burned in effigy, etc., etc., etc.)
In response to Griffin’s BFF Anderson Cooper, who co-hosts CNN’s New Year’s Eve celebration every year with the comedian, Trump Jr. demanded to know if Cooper would continue:
Thank you. Will you work with her again if @CNN has her back in air? Asking for a lot of people. #LMK https://t.co/nXPYveZgPg
— Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) May 31, 2017
He also asked CNN anchor Jake Tapper to speak for the entire network:Â
Will @CNN keep putting her on air for things like the New Years celebration??? https://t.co/jaFmULmboZ
— Donald Trump Jr. (@DonaldJTrumpJr) May 30, 2017
Thanks Jake, but you didn’t say if you thought @CNN should sever their ties to her and stop putting her on air. Let us know. Thx https://t.co/jaFmULmboZ

And then he asked CNN to ban Griffin, in an especially sarcastic tweet:
Dear @CNN, I must have missed your statement banning your commentator #KathyGriffin from future shows. Please resend. Thx
