5 Things for Tuesday

Here’s What You Need to Know to Start Your Day

Good Tuesday morning!

After the onslaught of President Trump’s inane and insane remarks the past few days, America hopefully will get a breather to focus on what Congress is trying to do – so we can stop them.

Here are 5 things you need to know:

  • The House is closer to bring the bill to repeal and “replace” ObamaCare to a vote, if you believe both Trump and GOP leaders. But multiple sources say they don’t have the votes to pass it, and the number of defections is growing. You can help by calling your Congressman and telling them you want them to keep ObamaCare and make it better, and that you oppose the new American Health Care Act, aka TrumpCare, because it will kick millions of people off their coverage and doesn’t properly cover those with pre-existing conditions. Call them at (202) 224- 3121.
  • Republicans are gearing up to tackle tax reform, so naturally they’ve decided to do it without the Democrats, because that’s been working so well for them on health care reform. Good. Trump’s new tax plan is a gift to billionaires and a disaster for most other Americans, not to mention it will explode the deficit.
  • MSNBC is giving another show to another Republican. First it was Greta Van Susteren, now Nicolle Wallace, who will take over from Steve Kornacki at 4 PM. Worse, they are in talks with far right wing nut Hugh Hewitt, and some reports say they might bump Joy Reid on the weekends to make it happen. Are you outraged yet?
  • Kirsten Gillibrand will not run for president in 2020. That’s unfortunate, she’s good, very smart, great on policy.
  • Harry Potter fans, fresh off the press, this one’s for you:
