White House Mocked for Inaccurate First 100 Days Accomplishments List

‘Oh. My. God. This Is Catastrophically Wrong’

Once again the Trump White House is being mocked and attacked on social media after posting on its website a listing of the President’s first 100 days accomplishments. As usual with the Trump White House, there are many incorrect facts displaying both their incompetence and unfamiliarity with basic facts of American history, and some outright lies, like taking credit for President Barack Obama’s accomplishments.

“In his first 100 days, President Donald J. Trump has taken bold action to restore prosperity, keep Americans safe and secure, and hold government accountable,” the mini-site on the White House claims. “At an historic pace, this President has enacted more legislation and signed more executive orders than any other president in over a half century,” which many dispute.

“With a focus on rebuilding the military, ending illegal immigration, and restoring confidence in our economy, the President is keeping his promises to the American people,” which, again, many say is just false.

In a series of tweets, Peter A. Shulman, an Associate Professor of History at Ohio’s Case Western Reserve University, dissects some of the claims, first by saying, “Oh. My. God. This is catastrophically wrong.”

There’s also a White House email that, among other claims, says FDR signed just 9 executive orders. Shulman notes it was 99.

One catastrophically wrong item, the very first – a claim the Trump administration has created “over 500,000 new jobs.”

Sean Spicer at Tuesday’s daily press briefing touted the new list, while attacking Democrats for obstruction.

ThinkProgress’ Judd Legum notes the Trump count includes jobs created under President Obama:

Looking at the Trump administration’s claim that FDR signed only 9 executive orders – which reflects a stunning lack of knowledge of American history – Prof. Shulman tweets:

A few examples:

Raw Story notes President Trump “has gone through his first 100 days without any major legislative accomplishments, and an Associated Press analysis has found that he’s accomplished fewer than half of the things that he pledged to do in his first 100 days.”

The White House tweeted out the list Tuesday. Some responses:

Senate Democrats decided to re-write trump’s re-write of history. Major trolling here:

Aside from the obvious factual errors, which are both embarrassing and a dangerous attempt to re-write history, there are just so many opportunities to mock both the list and the President, Twitter just couldn’t not help themselves.
