Trump Tells NRA Members ‘8-Year Assault on Your Second Amendment Freedom Has Come to a Crashing End’
‘You Have a True Friend and Champion in the White House’
President Donald Trump told attendees of the 2017 NRA Leadership Forum Friday afternoon that “the eight-year assault on your Second Amendment freedom has come to a crashing end.” The President was in campaign mode, also promising “freedom loving Americans” that his wall on the Mexican border will be built. “Don’t even think about it,” Trump directed, insisting it will happen.
The President also told NRA members, “you have a true friend and champion in the White House. No longer will federal agencies be coming after law-abiding gun owners,” Trump said. It’s unclear what federal agencies came after law-abiding gun owners. In fact, gun registrations regularly hit historic highs during the Obama years.
“No longer will the government be undermining your rights and your freedoms as Americans,” Trump said, again, not explaining how that happened under President Obama.
