Trump Is at One of His Golf Courses Again Today – 14th Time Since Becoming President

Ninth Weekend in a Row

President Donald Trump on Sunday morning headed to the Trump National Golf Club just outside of Washington, D.C., in Sterling, Virginia. This is his 14th time visiting one of his golf courses in the eleven weekends he has been president. According to the Washington Post’s Philip Bump, this would be the 24th time since becoming president Trump has visited a Trump property, not including his home and offices in Trump Tower, since being sworn in.

Bump notes it’s also the ninth weekend in a row Trump has visited a Trump property, and that next weekend, as it stands now, will make ten in a row.

Each trip to Trump’s golf course and Florida home, Mar-a-Lago, costs taxpayers more than $3 million, the L.A. Times reports.

For years, even before he began his presidential campaign, Donald Trump frequently attacked then-President Barack Obama for his golfing trips. But at this point in their presidencies, Obama had not played golf once. His first time was in late April 2009.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham on Sunday defending Trump’s golfing, saying Senator Rand Paul and Trump Budget Director Mick Mulvaney joined him in Virginia where they are “discussing a variety of topics, including healthcare,” according to Reuters.

“I would rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done,” Trump promised on the campaign.
