Treasury Secretary Mnuchin: Trump Has ‘No Intention’ of Releasing His Tax Returns (Video)
‘The American Population Has Plenty of Information’ on Trump’s Finances Says Treasury Secretary
At a White House press briefing moments ago on President Donald Trump’s tax reform plan, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin told reporters the President has “no intention” of releasing his tax returns.
Trump is the first president in decades to not release his returns, despite claiming several times he would once an audit, that he has never proven exists, has been completed.
Secretary Mnuchin went on to falsely claim that President Trump has “given more financial disclosure than anybody else.”
That’s a flat-out falsehood. Hillary Clinton not only released her tax returns, but made them and supporting financial information public for every year since 1977. No one has come close to the transparency she (and her husband) offered the American public. It’s frankly astounding that the Secretary of the Treasury claims otherwise.
Mnuchin went on to say “the American population has plenty of information” on Trump’s finances.Â
That too is astoundingly false. We literally have almost no information.Â
