Republicans Confirm Neil Gorsuch to Supreme Court After Changing Senate Rules

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell Orchestrated a Republican Takeover of the Judiciary

Senate Republicans have successfully confirmed Judge Neil Gorsuch to become an Associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked President Barack Obama’s nominee for nearly a year, and changed the rules of the Senate to allow Gorsuch to move forward against a Democratic filibuster.

The vote is still being taken but Gorsuch has enough votes to be confirmed.
