REPORT: Trump Considering Military Intervention Into Syria

Trump Has Been Against Intervention for Years

President Donald Trump is considering using American military forces to intervene in Syria, less than two days after Syrian President Bashar al-Assasd allegedly used chemical weapons on his own citizens. Assad has been attacking his own people for at least six years.

According to several reports, President trump has spoken with members of Congress about the use of force.

CNN reports President Trump “had not firmly decided to go ahead with it but said he was discussing possible actions with Defense Secretary James Mattis.” (Photo: Trump and Mattis)

Should Trump decide to use military force, he would effectively be going against Russia. President Vladimir Putin earlier Thursday said he stands by Assad and his support is “not conditional.”
