Noor Salman Faces Charges of Obstruction of Justice and Aiding and AbettingÂ
Noor Salman, the widow of Pulse Nightclub shooter Omar Mateen, has waived her right to a hearing that would fight her extradition to Florida from California, where she’s been held since her arrest.
As the Orlando Sentinel reported, Salman was scheduled to appear in court on April 10th to fight her extradition, but court documents filed this week showed that she will now return to Orlando to face federal charges of obstruction of justice and aiding and abetting her husband in the June 2016 massacre.
Salman had moved to California following the attack, living at her mother’s residence with her son until she was arrested on the charges in January of this year. Investigators who interviewed Salman learned that she had visited the Pulse Nightclub with her husband at least once prior to the massacre, and was also with Mateen when he purchased ammunition.

After Salman pleaded not guilty to the charges of obstruction of justice and aiding and abetting her husband, a California judge ruled that she could be released on a $500,000 bond. The decision was subsequently revoked by a Florida judge.
The shooting itself, an anti-gay hate crime which claimed the lives of 49 people and left 53 more injured, remains the worst terror attack on American soil since 9/11 and the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
As reported by NBC’s Bay Area affiliate, U.S. Marshals will transport Salman from the Santa Rita Jail in California to Florida’s Orlando Division to continue her court proceedings at an “unknown time.â€
