Retired Lt. General Mike Flynn is under investigation by the Pentagon’s Inspector General. Flynn, who was fired by then-President Barack Obama and later hired by candidate Donald Trump, who later promoted him to be President Trump’s National Security Advisor, has been the subject of ongoing discussion ever since a photo of him sitting next to Russian President Vladimir Putin, and at the same table as Green Party leader Jill Stein, at an event for the Russian propaganda machine RT, was published in 2015.
Flynn, according to Politico, is under investigation by the Pentagon’s IG over payments he received from foreign governments after retiring from the Army. According to documents released by House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Elijah Cummings, Flynn was warned in to not accept any payments from foreign governments.
