Minutes After Trump Announces ‘Massive’ Tax Cut Rollout White House Rolls Back President’s Claim

More Clear Evidence That Trump Has No Idea What He’s Doing, Nor Does the White House

President Donald Trump is a walking disaster.

During a Friday afternoon interview with the Associated Press, President Trump said he will unveil a “massive” tax cut for individuals and businesses on “Wednesday or shortly thereafter.” The AP notes the tax reform plan would come “just before his 100 day mark in office,” which is one week from tomorrow – Saturday the 29th.

Trump also characterized the tax cut as, “bigger I believe than any tax cut ever.”

Minutes after making his remarks to the AP, the White House issued a statement rolling them back.

“The President was saying what we’ve been saying all along, that he wants to do tax reform as quickly as possible while still doing it right,” the White House said, as CNBC reported.

Then, minutes later, at the Treasury Department, during a signing of three executive orders, Trump issued another conflicting statement.

“We’ll be having a big announcement on Wednesday having to do with tax reform. The process has begun long ago but it really formally begins on Wednesday.”

So, Trump went from unveiling – which includes details – a massive tax cut Wednesday, to announcing they are beginning to look at massive tax cuts on Wednesday.

Trump’s uninformed commentary have real-world consequences. For example, take a look at the stock market:

Markets rose significantly upon Trump’s comments, then dropped when the news came that he “misspoke.”

Also important, this is just more clear evidence that Trump has no idea what he’s doing, nor does the White House.
