House, Senate Pass One Week Stop-Gap Spending Bill to Keep Government Open

Easily Passed

The House and Senate have just passed a bill to keep the federal government open for one more week. The House, late Friday morning, voted by a large margin to pass the Continuing Resolution. The Senate then picked up the bill and passed it by voice vote at noon.

Next week, again, Republicans will likely continue to work to pass the latest version of TrumpCare, which would kick tens of millions off their health care coverage while allowing insurance companies to charge more for people with pre-existing conditions.

President Trump must sign the bill by midnight to keep the government open.
