WATCH: Trump Tells Hundreds of Navy Sailors ‘We’re Going to Start Winning Again’

Morale Booster?

President Donald Trump donned his Commander-in-Chief hat Thursday afternoon to deliver a speech before hundreds of Navy sailors as they commissioned a brand new nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the Gerald R. Ford. Trump used the event to push his military budget increase plans – he’s calling for a ten percent increase, adding $54 billion to the nation’s already bloated defense budget.

Trump was given a military cap and jacket, commenting he didn’t know how he looked in them, and then talked about his budget, saying he will fix America’s military, which he thinks is in a state of disrepair.

Trump also told the proud service members during what was supposed to be a celebration launching the world’s most powerful, most advanced, and most expensive ship – $12.9 billion – “We’re going to start winning again.”

That must have made the sailors feel great.

It’s unknown what Trump’s military budget spending increases include, but there has been no talk of increasing compenstion for our men and women in uniform.

Thousands of active-duty military members and veterans use food stamps.

Trump’s hiring freeze has dramatically impacted some military families with children, who are finding child care centers forced to close thanks to the President’s actions.
