WATCH: Mike Pence Just Can’t Give a Straight Answer When Asked if He Believes Obama Wiretapped Trump

‘Yes or No — Do You Believe That President Obama Did That?’

Vice President Mike Pence just cannot give a straight answer on President Donald Trump’s claim that President Barack Obama wiretapped him. The former Indiana governor spoke with a local Ohio ABC affiliate and when asked point-blank, darted and dodged but refused to say he believes the former president committed the felonious act his boss insists took place.

The president has alleged that the former president committed a felony in wiretapping Trump Tower,” Cleveland’s New 5 reporter John Kosich says to Pence. “Yes or no — do you believe that President Obama did that?”

Note the “yes or no” part of Kosich’s well-structured question.

Well what I can say,” the Vice President responds, “is that the president and our administration are very confident that the congressional committees in the House and Senate that are examining issues surrounding the last election, the run-up to the last election, will do that in a thorough and equitable way.”

Days after Trump tweeted his lie that Obama, while still in office, wiretapped him, the White House decided to pawn the search for proof off on Congress. Given the millions of dollars Republicans in Congress spent investigating Hillary Clinton over Benghazi, investigating the former president and the Justice Dept. could run up the taxpayers’ bills by a million dollars, easily.

“They’ll look at those issues,” Pence continued. “They’ll look at other issues that have been raised. But rest assured our focus is right where the American people are focused and that’s on bringing more jobs here to Ohio, creating a better healthcare system built on consumer choice.”

Does the Vice President sound like he’s running for office. Without the President?

Many, including this Democratic Congressman, have noted that if Trump were wiretapped, a FISA warrant had to be obtained, which means there was legal cause to listen to what he was saying.
