Twitter Explodes as Press Secretary Silently Displays Signal of Extreme Distress – Wearing Flag Pin Upside Down
‘Spicer Going Full @HouseofCards With His Pin Today’
Traditionally, flying the nation’s flag upside down is a sign of dire and immediate distress. It’s used, for example, by sailors adrift in an incapacitated ship.
So, it wasn’t surprising Friday afternoon, when White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer opened Friday’s daily press briefing heralding President Donald Trump’s 50 days in office, while reporters laughed.Â
Spicer’s American flag pin was on, upside down.
