Trump Calls Investigations by His FBI and GOP-Controlled House, Senate Intel Committees a Democratic ‘Witch Hunt’
Trump Tells Flynn to Ask for Immunity From Prosecution
President Donald Trump Friday morning continued his agenda of trying to discredit Congress. On Wednesday and Thursday he posted several tweets attacking the House Freedom Caucus – the relatively small yet powerful group of far right wing Republicans who derailed TrumpCare – along with the entire group of 193 House Democrats.
On Friday, Trump took another swing, this time at all Democrats, and the media, his other active target this week.

“Mike Flynn should ask for immunity in that this is a witch hunt (excuse for big election loss), by media & Dems, of historic proportion!” the President said Friday morning on Twitter.

Michael T. Flynn, of course, is the man Trump fired. Flynn was a top campaign advisor who Trump placed as his National Security Advisor, despite having been fired by President Barack Obama. In late January then-Acting Attorney General Sally Yates told Trump or someone high up in his administration Flynn was susceptible to Russian blackmail. It took Trump three weeks to fire Flynn, and he only did so after media reports that Flynn lied to Vice President Mike Pence grew too oppressive to ignore.
On Twitter, some noted this tweet, and this video, from last year, showing Trump’s never-ending hypocrisy:

It is unprecedented that a sitting U.S. President would weigh in on a matter of national security and side with the party who may have put our nation at risk.Â
Let’s not forget, Flynn, in an arrangement with the Justice Dept., retroactively registered as a foreign agent because he had been working for the Turkish government – while advising Trump.
And let’s also not forget, President Trump is supposed to be working for us. He should be demanding every agency and every committee get to the bottom of the Russia story, to protect our national security and our elections, now and in the future.Â
It’s feeling like that’s not his goal.
