Top Democrats Call for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to Resign Amid Accusations of Perjury
‘Not Fit to Serve as the Top Law Enforcement Officer of Our Country and Must Resign’
Top House and Senate Democrats are calling for the resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions amid accusations he may have committed perjury during his sworn testimony before the Senate at his confirmation hearing. Then-Senator Sessions told Sen. Al Franken that he was unaware of anyone in the Trump campaign having any communications with Russian officials when he himself had twice spoken with Russia’s Ambassador to the U.S.
“Jeff Sessions lied under oath during his confirmation hearing before the Senate,” House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said in a statement. “The Attorney General must resign.”

And we need Attorney General Jeff Sessions – who should have never been confirmed in the first place – to resign. We need it now.

Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ):
Let’s be clear AG Sessions should resign. Lying under oath about contact with a foreign adversary is deplorable. He can’t be trusted.
