“March 4 Trump” Rallies Draw Small Crowds, Spark Counterprotests

Organizers Warn Of “Seditious Fringe” That Seeks To “Sabotage” President

Rallies planned across the country in support of President Donald Trump appeared to be drawing relatively small crowds on Saturday.

“March 4 Trump” rallies were scheduled for noon in dozens of cities, including near the Washington Monument in the nation’s capital, and at Trump Tower in New York City.

In addition to pride in Trump’s presidency, the rallies were intended to “show unity in the face of what organizers call ‘a seditious fringe’ aiming to sabotage his vision for the country,'” according to the Associated Press.

“President Trump has thankfully set a new course, and no matter your race, creed, color, gender, orientation, age, or anything else traitors exploit to divide, We The People are one,” the March 4 Trump website states.

Last month, in response to a steady string of protests since his inauguration, Trump claimed on Twitter that a rally of his supporters would be “the biggest of them all.”

However, based on photos and videos posted online Saturday, turnout at the “March 4 Trump” rallies appeared relatively light. And in some cities, Trump supporters were met by large numbers of counterprotesters.
