Steve King Predicts Race War Between ‘Hispanics and the Blacks’

King Already Under Fire for White Nationalist Tweet

GOP Rep. Steve King took to local Iowa radio to defend his white nationalist tweet that has the nation in an uproar. The eight-term U.S. Congressman told 1040 WHO‘s host Jan Mickelson that he predicts a race war among Blacks and Hispanics before the nation’s white majority becomes a majority-minority demographic, which is predicted to be in 2044.

As CNN reports, King was responding to Mickelson’s question about a comment Univision anchor Jorge Ramos made to Tucker Carlson on Fox News Monday night.

“Jorge Ramos’ stock in trade is identifying and trying to drive wedges between race,” King charged. “Race and ethnicity, I should say to be more correct. When you start accentuating the differences, then you start ending up with people that are at each other’s throats. And he’s adding up Hispanics and blacks into what he predicts will be in greater number than whites in America,” King said.

“I will predict that Hispanics and the blacks will be fighting each other before that happens.”

King has come under fire from the left but very few on the right have denounced his offensive tweet, in which he claimed, “We can’t restore our civilization with somebody else’s babies.”

Rep. King is from a conservative Iowa district that is 95 percent white. For years he has operated as though he faces little chance of a successful Democratic challenge, but the tide might be turning. 

Last July King insisted that throughout history no other “subgroup of people” have contributed “more to civilization” than whites.

In 2013 King made his infamous attack on immigrants, saying: “They weren’t all brought in by their parents. For every one who’s a valedictorian, there’s another 100 out there who weigh 130 pounds and they’ve got calves the size of cantaloupes because they’re hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert.”

Could King lose his seat?

The Des Moines Register on Monday called for the state Republican Party to make it happen. 

But it will take far more than just one editorial to do so.

The DNC must find a top-notch Democrat to take King’s place in Iowa’s 4th congressional district. And that search must begin today.
