WATCH: Kate McKinnon As Jeff Sessions As Forrest Gump Eats A Sh*t Pie On “SNL”

“It looks delicious. Hey, is this what I think it is?”

In case you missed it, SNL‘s “Cold Open” featured cast member Kate McKinnon playing Attorney General Jeff Sessions as Forrest Gump on Saturday.

Eating from a box of chocolates and speaking to bystanders on a bus stop bench, McKinnon/Sessions recounts this week’s scandal involving the AG’s misleading testimony to Congress regarding communications between President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russian officials.

“I had a bad week,” McKinnon/Sessions tells one sympathetic listener. “It started out real good. The president made a great speech. Folks were thrilled on account of it was real words in a row for a whole hour.  We were all as happy as a monkey with a peanut machine, then I went to bed and got 800 messages and phone alerts saying I was a sneaky little liar. I didn’t know what to do, so my lawyers said, ‘Run, Jeffy! Run!’ And I started running and running. I ended up all the way sitting at this bus stop with you.”

The sketch concludes with SNL guest host Octavia Spencer, appearing as Minny Jackson from “The Help,” asking McKinnon/Sessions about the letter Coretta Scott King wrote opposing the attorney general’s nomination to serve as a federal judge in 1986. Spencer, who played Jackson, then gives McKinnon/Sessions a “shit pie” like the one she served her employer in “The Help.”

“That is a mighty kind gesture,” says McKinnon’s Sessions. “It looks delicious. Hey, is this what I think it is?”

Saturday’s SNL also included a spoof movie trailer about a Republican lawmaker who stood up to Trump. As it turns out, the identity of the lawmaker is still “TBD,” but according to one review, “It’s definitely not Paul Ryan.” And SNL cast members Alex Moffat and Mikey Day played Trump’s sons, Eric and Donald Jr., who appeared on “Weekend Update” to talk about conflicts of interest.
