James Comey Expected to Reveal if FBI Is Investigating Trump Campaign Ties to Russia
It’s Unclear if Comey Will Make That Same Information Public
FBI Director James Comey is expected to reveal to Senator Sheldon Whitehouse if the Bureau is investigating the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia. Whitehouse, a Democrat from Rhode Island, told CNN he and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-C) will met with Dir. Comey Wednesday before a Senate hearing on the matter.Â
Comey could refuse to say there is, or if there is, an investigation. He could also not reveal its full depth.
CNN reports that Comey earlier this month would not even tell the Senators, who lead the Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism, if there is an investigation.Â
Both Senators have also asked Comey for evidence of any wiretapping of Trump Tower by President Obama, a charge Trump made that has attracted a great deal of attention as the president has offered no proof.

It’s unclear if Comey will make that same information public.
