Federal Judge Blocks Trump’s Second Muslim Travel Ban From Taking Effect, Says ‘Illogic’ Is ‘Palpable’
Restraining Order Cites Establishment ClauseÂ
A federal judge in Hawaii has just issued a temporary restraining order on President Donald Trump’s second Muslim travel ban, and along with the ruling issued a dramatic rebuke. This order blocks Trump’s new executive order from going into effect.
“Significant and unrebutted evidence of religious animus” is “driving the promulgation of the Executive Order,” the ruling reads. It also attacks the “illogic” of the government’s position.
The ruling states Trump’s previous comments, and even Rudy Giuliani’s, cannot be ignored. Yes, intent counts.
