Democratic National Committee Asks for Resignation Letters From Entire Staff

Time to Clean House

Newly-elected Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez has requested letters of resignation from all DNC staffers. It is an unprecedented move and an attempt to clean out the embattled organization. Letters must be submitted in April, NBC News first reported.

A committee advising Perez on his transition is now interviewing staff and others as part of a top-to-bottom review process to help decide not only who will stay and who will go, but how the party should be structured in the future,” NBC News’ Alex Seitz-Wald reports.

The DNC has failed Democrats, as many across the sepectrum of liberals, progressive, and other Democrats will attest.

Two days after the 2016 presidential election NCRM became the first publication to demand the DNC enforce its own bylaws and make the Party Chair a full-time position. Why? I wrote:

Republicans next year will control the White House.

Republicans next year will control the U.S. Senate.

Republicans next year will control the U.S. House.

Republicans next year will control the Supreme Court.

Republicans next year will control 34 governors’ offices – matching the all-time high set in 1922. Literally two out of every three governorships.

Republicans next year will control 68 out of 98 state legislative chambers. Literally more than two out of every three.

In 23 states – nearly half the nation – Republicans will control both houses of the state legislatures and the governor’s office.

“For only the second time since 1929, the Republican Party will control the House, Senate, the White House, most governorships and state houses, and will decide a Supreme Court pick,” The Week observed Wednesday, in the wake of stunning and extensive losses at every level of elected government.

It’s time for some major changes, hopefully this is a good start.
