UPDATING: CBO Reports TrumpCare Would Leave Additional 24 Million More People Without Insurance by 2026

Premiums initially would actually rise under TrumpCare

The Congressional Budget Office has just released its initial report on TrumpCare, the Republicans’ plan to repeal and “replace” ObamaCare. Despite President Donald Trump’s repeated promises that no one would go uninsured, the plan he supports in fact by 2026 would leave an additional 24 million more people without health care coverage.

Starting in 2018, TrumpCare would leave 14 million more people uninsured – that’s in addition to those currently without coverage.

Premiums initially would actually rise under TrumpCare, then by 2026 drop by 10 percent as compared to where they would be under ObamaCare at that point.

It would reduce the deficit by $337 billion over ten years.
