‘We Should Be Talking About the Attorney General Going to Jail’ Says Conservative Former Lawmaker on Sessions (Video)
‘Recusal Won’t Do It. Resignation Won’t Do It.’
Attorney General Jeff Sessions is accused of lying to the Senate during his confirmation hearing. He met twice with the Russian Ambassador, including once during the Republican National Convention, yet told his fellow Senators he had no knowledge of anyone connected to the Trump campaign ever having a conversation with any Russian official.
Louise Mensch, a conservative former Member of the UK Parliament, and former founder and head of NewsCorp’s Heat Street news and opinion website, was very clear about what should be happening right now.
“We should be talking about the attorney general going to jail,” Mensch told MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle Thursday morning. Mensch says “recusal won’t do it. Resignation won’t do it.”
She notes Sessions met Ambassador Sergey Kislyak “at the RNC. That is a massive enormous political campaign event.”
#Sessions blind spot – people are only considering him as AG. When he met Russia’s top spymaster at the RNC he **headed Trump foreign team**

Mensch called Kislyak a Russian spy, which drew pushback from Ruhle. But Mensch is totally correct. U.S. Intelligence not only considers Kislyak a Russian spy, they also consider him a top recruiter, as CNN’s Shimon Prokupecz and others have made clear:
Here’s the issue: Kislyak, the Russian ambassador, is considered by US intelligence to be one of Russia’s top spies and spy-recruiters.

Top Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, have called for Sessions to resign, but other Democrats and several Republicans are merely calling for Sessions to recuse himself from investigations into Trump and his associates’ ties to Russia.
Jeff Sessions both committed perjury and broke the Logan Act. Those are CRIMES. It’s not recusal it’s resignation

Recusal should be a given, not a goal.
