House Bill to Kill ObamaCare and Pass TrumpCare Passes Legislative Hurdle – Vote Slated for Friday Afternoon

It’s On.

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan rolled the dice Friday morning, allowing a vote to move TrumpCare forward. Republicans passed that motion, with 230 yes votes by only Republicans, and 194 no votes by Democrats and six Republicans.

The Republican bill to pass TrumpCare and repeal ObamaCare will now face four hours of debate. The earliest time a vote could take place on the actual bill is 3:15 PM EDT, but more likely it will come around 4 PM or 4:30, after the markets close.

Will the bill pass?

Sources say it’s doubtful, but there are many opportunities for GOP leadership and President Trump to try to twist more arms.

Keep in mind, the majority of Americans support ObamaCare and do not want it repealed. An even greater number oppose the Republican health care plan. Also, President Donald Trump has a 37 percent approval rating, so any Republican lawmaker concerned about going against him should rest easy.
