“Sad Little Man”: Twitter Responds To Trump’s Claim That “White House Is Running VERY WELL”

“This totally sounds like something you’d tweet when things are going very well.”

One day after calling the media “the enemy of the American people,” President Donald Trump claimed Saturday morning on Twitter that his White House in in fact “running VERY WELL.” 

“Don’t believe the main stream (fake news) media.The White House is running VERY WELL,” he wrote. “I inherited a MESS and am in the process of fixing it.” 

Trump’s White House, of course, has been racked by weeks of leaks and turmoil. As for his claim that he inherited a mess, which he also made repeatedly during a news conference Thursday, PolitiFact notes that in terms of the economy and foreign policy, it’s  largely false. 

In reality, things are going so badly for Trump that he was compelled to schedule a campaign rally Saturday afternoon near Orlando, to try to right the ship: 

Trump is also spending his third consecutive weekend at his Mar-A-Lago resort in Florida, and on Saturday morning he reportedly headed out for yet another round of golf. Meanwhile, anti-Trump “Not My President” rallies are planned in more than 25 cities across the country on President’s Day Weekend.
