Twitter Chastises and Mocks Trump for Latest Tweet Claiming ‘Russia Talk Is FAKE NEWS Put Out by the Dems’

  • President Clearly Feeling Pressure Over Ties to Russia

  • Blames Democrats When Even Top Republicans Support Investigation

Having spending the past three weekends in a row at his Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago, President Donald Trump decided to stay in Washington, D.C. this weekend and has had a bit more time to tweet.

After getting slapped down by newly elected DNC Chair Tom Perez – who told the President he and his new Deputy Chair, Keith Ellison, along with Democrats will be Trump’s “worst nightmare” – the apparently bored Commander-in-Chief just tweeted an insane claim that even top Republicans in Congress disagree with.

Despite the fact that there are multiple FBI investigations into Trump’s and his associates’ ties to Russia, the President just called all that “Russia talk” “FAKE NEWS” being put out by Democrats, with help from the media, “to mask the big election defeat and the illegal leaks!”

(At 137 characters Trump could have deleted “in order” and added in his false but requisite “dishonest” description of the press, and still had three characters to spare: “Russia talk is FAKE NEWS put out by the Dems, and played up by the dishonest media to mask the big election defeat and the illegal leaks!” Sad!)

Trump’s tweet echoes the claim by his Deputy Press Secretary Sunday morning, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who said of calls for investigations into Trump’s Russia ties, “if Democrats want to continue to relive their loss every single day by doing investigations or review after review, that’s fine by us”

Meet the Press made clear earlier today what Trump’s up to:

Immediately on Twitter many, who long ago got wise to his shenanigans of deflection, just mocked Trump:
