Trump Insists He ‘Inherited a Mess’ but His Administration Is ‘Running Like a Fine-Tuned Machine’
‘The Leaks Are Absolutely Real, the News Is Fake’
During a hastily-called press conference President Donald Trump held court for 77 minutes while making outlandish claims, delivering flat-out lies, attacking the press, and making everyone’s head spin. Trump himself came off as racist, anti-Semitic, paranoid, offensive, unhinged, a disaster, and a mess.
That said, there were many news-making highlights – if you can call them that – that may go down in history as some of the craziest moments from President Trump’s tenure in the White House.Â
Like, Trump’s false claim he “inherited a mess”:

Provably false. Trump inherited a dream, compared to what President Barack Obama walked in to.Â

Trump also claimed that, despite all reports to the contrary, his administration is running like a “fine-tuned machine”:Â

There were also some “classic” lines.
“The leaks are absolutely real, the news is fake because so much of the news is fake.”

“I’m not ranting and raving, I’m just telling you you’re dishonest people… I’m having a good time.”Â

“We had a very smooth rollout of the travel ban, but we had a bad court.”

Trump also falsely claimed that the 9th Circuit Court, which ruled against him, has been overruled “80 percent of the time.” That’s false. What is true is of the less than one percent of cases the Supreme Court accepted for review that came from the 9th Circuit, 80 percent of them were over turned. Big, big difference.
