Hypocrite-In-Chief Trump Plays 1st Round Of Golf Nearly 3 Months Before Obama

President’s Florida Trip To Benefit His Businesses, Cost Taxpayers $3 Million

President Donald Trump, who frequently criticized his predecessor for playing too much golf, hit the links for the first time as commander in chief on Saturday — nearly three months before Barack Obama played his first round in 2009.

Mark Knoller, a White House correspondent for CBS News, reports (above) that Obama didn’t play his first round of golf as president until April 26, 2009. Trump, meanwhile, teed off on Saturday morning — 15 days into his presidency — at his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach.

At a campaign rally in December 2015, Trump slammed Obama for having “played more golf than Tiger Woods.”

“It was reported today [Obama] played 250 rounds of golf and he’s going to be in Hawaii, I think did they say for three weeks?” Trump said. “Two hundred and fifty rounds, that’s more than a guy who plays in the PGA Tour plays. He played more golf last year than Tiger Woods. We don’t have time for this. We have to work. … I don’t have time for that. I love golf, I think it’s one of the greats, but I don’t have time.”

Trump also liked to criticize Obama for taking vacations at the expense of taxpayers. But POLITICO reported Friday that Trump’s trip this weekend to his Mar-A-Lago resort could cost taxpayers over $3 million. And the Huffington Post noted that Trump is scheduled to attend two events during the trip that will directly benefit his businesses.
