Behind Closed Doors Trump Tells GOP Senators ‘Thousands’ Bussed in to Vote ‘Illegally’ Cost Him New Hampshire

President Apparently Believes His Own Lies

For months a debate has been growing: Does Donald Trump, now President Trump, lie like crazy because he has an agenda, or does he lie like crazy with a purpose, to change the national conversation and take focus away from what he’s doing.

While the correct answer may be “both,” here more evidence President Donald Trump lies like crazy and apparently believes his own lies.

In a closed door meeting with ten top Republican senators, President Trump on Thursday lamented that he would have won New Hampshire if “thousands” of people had not been bussed in to the Granite State to vote “illegally.”

The meeting, according to Politico a “listening session” to help the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch, his Supreme Court nominee, was also attended by Republican former Senator Kelly Ayotte, who the Trump administration has hired as a liaison to help Gorsuch be confirmed.

Trump also told the senators that Ayotte would have won he re-election bid if not for the busloads of people crossing state lines to “illegally” vote against her.

Both are lies.

Ayotte ran a terrible campaign and refused to denounce Trump early on. Later, when she did, it was clear she did only for political gain.

“According to one participant who described the meeting, ‘an uncomfortable silence’ momentarily overtook the room” when Trump lied about the illegal voters.

Trump, after lying last month about the supposed 3 – 5 million who he claimed voted “illegally” in the 2016 election, supposedly stealing the popular vote win from him, promised an executive order to investigate on a wide, national scale what would be massive voter on a historic scale.

Like many of Trump’s promises, that order has yet to appear.
